Five countries elected to UNSC

The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday elected Bosnia, Brazil, Gabon, Lebanon and Nigeria to serve on the Security Council in 2010 and 2011.

From January 1, they will replace Burkina Faso, Costa Rica, Croatia, Libya and Vietnam as non-veto-holding members of the 15-nation body.
