Ghana's President John Kufuor said there was no doubt that many of the 53 nations in the continent were making progress.
"You will find that what we can achieve together here will be far more fulfilling than anything you can do elsewhere in the world," he said on Tuesday.
Kufuor's message was delivered by Ghana's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Nana Kwadwo Seinti, at a special ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night.
Deputy Transport Minister Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar was also present on the occasion.
