Beatle star Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills who was involved in a bitter divorce battle with the rockstar, has compared herself to none other Mahatma Gandhi, because she believers that both of them were persecuted for telling the truth.

The former model identifies with the Indian legend as well as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, because the persecution they have all endured in their bid to tell the truth, Contactmusic reported.

“They were people who went through controversy to put the truth forward and they weren’t afraid to fight and I can relate to that completely,” says the 41-year-old charity campaigner.

Mills who had earlier alleged that McCartney was leading a smear campaign against her during their much publicised divorce said that she was made a public villain.

“Everyone jumped on that person, it was amazing. Everyone said, ‘Why don’t you say something, you Beatles fan. Get lost,“ Mills said.

Miller had secured a huge sum of 24.3 million pounds as pay out after her legal separation.
