Indo-US ties: Senate acknowledges Singh's role

The US Senate today unanimously passed a resolution welcoming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the US and acknowledging his significant contribution to the growth of Indo-US ties.

The US Senate on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution welcoming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the US and acknowledging his significant contribution to the growth of Indo-US ties.

Introduced by the co-chairs of the Senate India Caucus, Senators Mark Warner and John Cornyn, the resolution among others was sponsored by Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Singh is visiting the US to attend the the UN General Assembly session in New York.

He will also meet US President Barack Obama in Washington on Friday and leave for New York immediately after the meeting.
