Refused by a taxi, Moradi threw a bomb at the vehicle and left the driver injured. Spotted by the police, he hurled a third bomb but it bounced off a tree and blew his legs off.

Moradi is hospitalised. His accomplice, Mohd Hazaei, was arrested while trying to fly out to Malaysia. A hunt is on for the third suspect.

Israel’s defence minister Ehud Barak blamed Iran for the blasts, but Thai officials said no links had been found to Monday’s bomb attack on an Israeli emba-ssy car in New Delhi and a similar foiled attempt in Georgia.
