Israeli army kills two Gaza militants: medics

According to medical sources, the Israeli army has killed two Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army early on Monday killed two Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

Two members of the armed wing of the radical Islamic Jihad movement were killed and a third person was seriously wounded by Israeli fire in an area in eastern Gaza City, the sources said.

There was no immediate reaction from the Israeli army.

Monday's deaths brought to 5,999 the number of people killed in Israeli-Palestinian violence since the start of the second Palestinian uprising in 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinians, according to an AFP count.
