Myanmar's military government lifted states of emergency on Tuesday in three cyclone-hit states and some parts of the worst-affected districts of Yangon and Irrawaddy, state television said.

The broadcast, monitored by Reuters outside the country, said seven townships in Irrawaddy Division southwest of Yangon, and 40 townships in Yangon Division, remained emergency disaster zones after at least 15,000 people were killed in a weekend cyclone.
