Namibia vote begins, ruling party likely winners
Namibians voted on Friday in a presidential and national assembly election expected to see President Hifikepunye Pohamba reinstated, but with a new opposition threatening the ruling party's two-thirds majority.

Namibians voted on Friday in a presidential and national assembly election expected to see President Hifikepunye Pohamba reinstated, but with a new opposition threatening the ruling party's two-thirds majority.
The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), which emerged as a breakaway fraction of the ruling SWAPO in 2007, is expected to become the new opposition, replacing the Congress of Democrats in the vote that will take place over Friday and Saturday.
Votes will be tallied after the polls close at 1900 GMT on Saturday.
