Sam Taylor, a British citizen, was arrested from a restaurant in Thamel, Kathmandu's tourist hub.

"The powder found on him was tobacco," Inspector Ishwor Karki told IANS.

Taylor was held for questioning but released after investigation, the police said.

On Saturday, the Nepal police said in their crime bulletin that the 35-year-old Taylor was arrested at 9 pm from a cafe with about eight gm of illegal charas (hashish) in his possession.
