Nepal's PM gets invitation to visit China

Extending feelers to the new government, China has invited Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to visit the country.

But Nepal will undertake a trip to India first, as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already extended an invitation to Nepal for an official visit, Rajan Bhattarai, Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Advisor said.

The Government of China has conveyed a formal invitation to Prime Minister Nepal to visit China at a convenient date, Foreign Ministry spokesman Madan Kumar Bhattarai said.

However, the date for the visit will be confirmed through diplomatic channel, he added.
