Nine killed in Turkey train derailment

Nine people were killed and at least 21 injured when a passenger train derailed in western Turkey early on Sunday.

Nine people were killed and at least 21 injured when a passenger train derailed in western Turkey early on Sunday, the Anadolu news agency reported.

The Pamukkale Express travelling between Istanbul and Denizli derailed at around 2 am as it was negotiating a curve at a high speed in the district of Kutahya. The five-wagon train was carrying around 450 passengers.

Rescue mission was launched in freezing temperature of below minus 10 degress Celsius, officials said.
