Another first-time nominee is Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon. Those nominations were announced along with others on Thursday evening. Historicity has been nominated in the category of Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group.

Tandon, a New York-based businessman, was nominated for Om Namo Narayanaya: Soul Call. That nomination is in the Best Traditional World Music Album category.
