Responding to a point of order raised by lawmaker Ejaz Virk in the national assembly or lower house of Parliament that two MPs had entered the House with pistols, Malik said an investigation would be conducted into the matter.

The police and paramilitary Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Corps are responsible for external security of Parliament and every person is searched thoroughly before entering the building, he said.

Security agencies will check footage from Parliament's closed circuit TV system to ascertain whether such an incident had occurred, he said.
