The Chinese-made F-7 jet was on an operational training mission when it crashed near Samundri. The pilot ejected safely and there were no reports of loss of life or property on the ground, a PAF statement said.

The crash apparently occurred due to a technical malfunction, the statement said.

A board of inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the accident.
