"Sabitbi Amanov, a resident of Kazakhstan, was the chief explosives expert of the terrorist groups active in the Caucasus. He had undergone training in Pakistan," state-run Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to Interfax news agency, the federal agencies were on the lookout for Amanov for several years and this morning he was blocked in a house in Makhachkala.
He was killed in a special operation after he opened fire at the police party in response to call for surrendering.
