According to the Daily Star, Kate has given up her job at her parents' multi-million pound event supplies firm Party Pieces. Her final assignment was shooting the Christmas catalogue at the firm's warehouse in Berkshire. "She'll always be ready to help her parents if they need her but she's not going to be working there regularly from now on," a friend of the 28-year-old Kate was quoted by the British tabloid as saying.
The second-in-line to the British throne's longtime girlfriend had recently cancelled the first exhibition of her work after feeling the pressure of the show. A royal aide said, "There isn't a single senior royal bride who has managed to hold down a career in the real world after marrying into the family."
Meanwhile, Kate's parents Carole and Michael are said to be joining the British Queen for a New Year break at Sandringham in Norfolk.
