At least five people have been killed and two injured when their van hit a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

At least five people have been killed and two injured when their van hit a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, a local official said on Sunday.

"The incident happened on Saturday evening when the van hit roadside mines presumably planted by Taliban to attack NATO and Afghan National troops in Panjwayi district," said Haji Shabaran, the chief of Panjwayi district in Kandahar province.
