Suicide bombing kills 12 in Afghanistan: government

Seven civilians and five policemen were killed in a suicide bombing near a police patrol in southwestern Afghanistan's Farah province.

Seven civilians and five policemen were killed in a suicide bombing near a police patrol in southwestern Afghanistan's Farah province Thursday, the interior ministry said.

"There was a suicide bombing this morning. Seven civilians have been martyred and five policemen," interior ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary told AFP, raising an earlier toll of seven.

Fourteen civilians and nearly a dozen police officers were wounded in the attack in the province's volatile Delaram district, he said.
