Rescue services say a pregnant woman and two children were among the dead. Nobody aboard the train was hurt.
Giora Weiss, the train driver told Israeli media he saw the driver of the minibus talking to passengers sitting behind him before the collision last evening.
He said he hit the brakes but it was too late.
"I saw the eyes of one of the passengers and it was horrible," he told reporters.
