An intercity train from Warsaw to Bielsko-Biala was on the wrong track at Ligota station in Katowice when it collided yesterday evening with a local train that was about to depart, Katowice police spokesman Jacek Pytel said.

He said two rail traffic controllers on duty at the time were detained on suspicion that they were responsible for the collision, and said that one of them was drunk.
