An Afghan soldier shot dead two US soldiers and injured two others in Afghan capital Kabul.

An Afghan soldier shot dead two US soldiers and injured two others in Afghan capital Kabul, the US-led coalition forces said in a statement on Monday.

The Afghan soldier fired shots into the US soldiers' vehicles when they were leaving the Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul Sunday, the statement said, adding that two US soldiers were killed and two others injured.

"Other Afghan soldiers - providing external security for the prison - rushed to the aid of the US personnel and fatally shot the rogue soldier," the statement added.
