Giving examples of cases filed against its MLAs and the alleged lack of merit in them, MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam said the party was preparing to file a writ petition in the Delhi high court to prove there was political vendetta behind them.

AAP Delhi convener Dilip Pandey said the BJP’s attempt to scare AAP MLAs by filing fake cases would not work.

“You strengthen our resolve through these actions,” he said.

Pandey claimed Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested like he was a terrorist.

“They turned the CCTV cameras upwards and dragged him out. They didn’t even allow him to wear his slippers. The police officials misbehaved and slapped him,” he said.

MEETING RAJNATH

The party members will try to meet home minister Rajnath Singh to discuss security of women in view of the Burari rape.

The party doesn’t have an appointment to meet Singh. Female MLAs of AAP and members of the party’s women and the youth wings will go to meet him.

KHAN IN CUSTODY

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, held for allegedly threatening a woman after she visited his house to raise the issue of power cuts, was sent to a day’s police custody.

Metropolitan magistrate Sheetal Chaudhary Pradhan extended by a day the custodial interrogation of the Okhla MLA, who was produced in court amid heavy security.
