People in Delhi woke up to a pleasant morning on Tuesday with overnight showers bringing relief from scorching heat. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal for this time of the year.
Tuesday is likely to be cloudy with light rain or thunderstorm predicted at several places towards the evening, weather officials said.
“The minimum temperature at 8.30 AM was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius and the humidity was 60 per cent,” a MeT official said.
The rainfall recorded overnight was 0.3 mm at Safdarjung observatory, 2.4 mm at Palam observatory and Lodhi Road 1.2 mm, and 15.2 mm in ridge area while at Aya Nagar it was 2.1 mm. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 39 and 26 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was pegged at 29.5 degrees Celsius.
