A day after a 35-year-old man was allegedly mowed down by a speeding tempo in west Delhi’s Subhash Nagar and left to die on the road, the police have identified the driver as a local milkman.

Sources said the vehicle used in the crime has been found. The driver lives in Subhash Nagar and was traced with the help of the registration number of the vehicle captured in the CCTV footage accessed from a camera installed in the area.

“We have sent our teams to arrest the man and he will soon be in custody. After the CCTV footage went viral on news channels and social media, the driver went underground. We then sought help from our local intelligence to trace him. His hideout was identified and teams have been sent for a raid,” a senior police officer said.
