Alicia Keys recently declared she doesn’t want to cover up anymore. Not her face, not her soul, not her struggles. Nothing. That’s besides her body of course.

“I don’t want to cover up anymore,” Alicia Keys wrote in Lenny Letter, an online feminist newsletter, as she declared her #nomake-up movement.

Indeed, Keys has been a living testament to those words.

Whether she’s performing at big-ticket events or is on the set of popular US show Saturday Night Live, the singer has faced the cameras sans make-up, much to the shock of millions of people who believe celebrities can never do without their glammed up face, let alone appear on TV without them.
