Huda will send acquisition notices to farmers and landowners in Sector 4

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) will acquire land for the Connecting Peripheral Road (CPR) in sectors 81-90, officials said.

The CPR project hit a roadblock about two months ago when Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) refused to shift electricity lines and poles falling in the alignment of the CPR between the last point of the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) near Sector 88 and NH, near Kherki Daula toll plaza.(Parveen Kumar/HT FILE)

The CPR project hit a roadblock about two months ago when Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) refused to shift electricity lines and poles falling in the alignment of the CPR between the last point of the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) near Sector 88 and NH, near Kherki Daula toll plaza. CPR is the last leg of the NPR, which is popularly known as the Dwarka Expressway.

Yashpal Yadav, Huda administrator, said, “After HVPN refused to remove poles and lines, we revised the alignment of CPR and now, we need to acquire land that we will handover to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for construction of CPR. Nearly 10 acres are required for the CPR. Huda has written to Haryana government in this regard and soon, notices will be published in dailies and land will be acquired.”

CPR is considered the future lifeline of the city in terms of intracity connectivity between East and West Gurgaon as well as intercity connectivity among Delhi, Jaipur, Faridabad, Rewari and Pataudi.

Meanwhile, the HVPN has agreed to shift two poles of its high-tension line located across the NH and where a cloverleaf is proposed to connect CPR and Southern Peripheral Road (SPR).

The Huda administrator said, “HVPN has agreed to remove the two poles and clear the hurdle in the way of the proposed cloverleaf. This is of great help and we hope that in a month, Huda will be in a position to acquire land.”

NHAI’s detailed project report of 28km Dwarka Expressway, including CPR and cloverleaf, is ready and construction is expected to start soon after Huda hands over land and HVPN shifts its high-tension lines.

Udeep Singhal, project director, NHAI, Dwarka Expressway, said, “Unless we get land where there is no hurdle or stuck in litigation, work cannot be started.”
