Ujjain-Bilaspur three-day match from today

india Updated: Jan 03, 2007 01:55 IST

UJJAIN WILL meet Bilaspur in a three-day senior division cricket tournament organised by the MPCA. The match will begin on Wednesday at DRP Line, Ujjain.

After a couple of years, Bilaspur division has been re-inducted into MP as Chhattisgarah Cricket Association could not get recognition from the BCCI.

MPCA secretary Sanjay Jagdale and his committee felt that they should come forward to help the upcoming cricket players of Chhattisgarh and allowed Bilaspur to play in the inter-division matches.

The Bilasapur divisions is equally balanced as it is led by Ranji player Santhosh Sau who batted brilliantly during the Ranji Trophy matches representing MP couple of years back. After seeing his brilliant performance, Railways appointed him.

This year, he has applied for NOC from the Railways and has opted to play once again for Madhya Pradesh Ranji team. The inter-division matches are crucial for Sau as his performance may help him a call back in the MP team.

Amit Chouhan will lead the Ujjain team. The other members of the team are Adidtya Sughandi, Tushar, Ashuthosh Savnar, P Bhat, Varun Singh, Chandrashekar Kale, Rajkumar Badoria, Ramen Devdhare, Vijay Sisodia, Kishan Deshmukh, Mayank Agarwal, Rajendra Patidar, Imarn Ali, Ratnadeep Bhatnagar and Rahul Panwar. Salim Khan and Surendra Kabra will be the coach and manager of the team.

Ujjain Divisional Commissioner Jaideep Govind will be chief guest. S M Ranganath from Indore and Harsh Pandey from Bhopal will officiate the match.
