The BJP government in Chhattisgarh has decided to replicate the sangat darshan (public interaction) programme of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh had sent a two-member team to understand the basics of the programme “undertaken exclusively in Punjab”, a Punjab government release said on Thursday.
Raman Singh’s officer on special duty (OSD) Arun Bisen and director of public relations Rajesh Sukuma Toppo accompanied Badal during his sangat darshan here on Thursday. Both the senior IAS officers minutely observed this exercise in which the CM directly interacts with the masses to redress their grievances and give fillip to development.
During the sangat darshan, the officers from Chhattisgarh had detailed discussions with the officers of the state and district administration regarding the entire exercise, the release said.
The release added that the visiting team was “highly impressed” by the fact that a CM visits “every village” to meet the people by undertaking such a comprehensive exercise.
The release quoted Bisen and Toppo as having said that this programme has a huge potential of public welfare and needs to be replicated in Chhattisgarh.
