The Punjab and Haryana high court has decided to open a sub-divisional court at Indri, 35 km from here, within a month. Justice M Jayapaul, the inspecting judge of the high court, announced this at Indri on Tuesday.

Jayapaul said the judicial facility would soon start functioning from the complex of the SDM office and it would help villagers of the rural sub-division who had to approach the district courts for all court-related works.

He told mediapersons that about 1,500 cases of Indri areas were pending in the courts and opening up for sub-divisional court would ensure timely disposal of the cases.
