Two youths were found murdered on the railway tracks at Vinod Nagar near Khanna on Wednesday.

The deceased, who were friends, have been identified as Anil Kumar (30) of Jahangirpur in Delhi and Vicky (22) of Vinod Nagar in Khanna.

Taj Mohammad, assistant sub-inspector (ASI), Government Railway Police, Khanna, said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the youths were murdered and their bodies were planted on the tracks to make it look like a suicide.”

“But, before any train came, a passer-by noticed the bodies and informed the police,” said Mohammad. “They were killed using sharp-edged weapons. Blood marks were also found near the tracks. It seemed that the bodies were dragged to the tracks.”

Assistant inspector general (AIG) of railway police also visited the spot and asked the officials to speed up the investigation.

Anil had come to his in-laws house

The ASI said, “Anil had come to his in-laws house in Khanna to take his wife Radha to Delhi. She told police that he left the house at 5pm on Tuesday.”

“On the other hand, Vicky’s mother Bimla mother told police that he went out at about 8pm after having dinner on Tuesday,” he said. “Vicky was the lone bread winner of the family and has five sisters. His father had died nine years ago. Vicky and Anil became friends, when the latter had come to Khanna four months ago.”

“A case of murder has been registered against unidentified accused and investigation is on,” he said.
