Bank officials are clueless about a mystery deposit of Rs 1.26 crore in a daily wage worker’s account.

Nazir, who had last deposited Rs 250 in his account on Wednesday, was shocked to receive a message that Rs 1,26,76,436 had been credited to his account.

When he checked his mini statement, his balance still reflected the over Rs 1.26 crore in his account.

Shocked, he met bank officials who were unaware of how the money was deposited. Income Tax officials are investigating.

Nazir had opened the account only two months ago at the Andhra Bank branch in Amileypalli village of Chittoor district. His balance then was Rs 192.
