Swatantrata Celebrations
This event, being held at Select citywalk in Saket, will see various performances, stalls by NGOs and a pottery exhibition. When you are here, you will get to see a special 30 feet by 20 feet structure that has been built as a mark of respect to martyrs. It has been made using environment-friendly materials such as jute and fibre.

There will also be performances by Ability Unlimited Foundation (AUF), which is the world’s first professional dance theatre to train persons with disabilities in Indian classical dance on wheel chairs. Another major attraction here is Maati Srijan, an exclusive pottery exhibition.

Fly to Fight Festival
Join this unique kite flying competition that also aims to send a message against corruption. As part of this contest, the visitors will get a chance to fly a kite with the picture of their favourite politician. There is also a performance by two Delhi-based bands, followed by an act by Delhi Drum Circle. It is an eco-friendly festival, where people are only allowed to use saddi (white thread without glass) for flying kites.

Fun (I-Day) Carnival
Head to this event in Gurgaon to witness a flag-hoisting session, followed by the national anthem. Visitors can also buy their own kite and fly it in the open space at the venue. The event also promises to be a delight for all shoppers, as they will get an opportunity to buy jewellry, clothes and even plants at the flea market here. The evening will be concluded by a lively puppet show by Anurupa Roy (from Katakatha Puppet Trust) on the phenomenon of rapid climate change in the world.

Ambedkar Aur Gandhi
Enjoy the Independence Day evening with this patriotic play, presented by the Asmita Theatre Group. The play portrays the great debate between Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkar, which led to the Poona Pact. The play is written by Rajesh Kumar and directed by Arvind Gaur.

Independence Week Celebrations
Limca book record holder Mohiuddin or Bhai Mian, as he is popularly called, will enthrall people at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon by flying more than 100 kites in the sky on one string. The celebrations will also be marked by a lavish food menu at the Culture Gully that would include cuisines from different Indian states.

I-Day Carnival
Celebrate the Independence Day with a shopping festival along with some interesting activities at the DLF Promenade mall. The festival will be kicked off with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a parade. There would be games like Pin The Rose on Chacha Nehru and Pin The Chakra on Flag (with darts). The carnival will also see jugglers and magicians entertaining children. Visitors to the mall can also get free tattoos done on the theme of freedom at a special tattoo parlour. Other activities include face painting, making your own flag and masks, and lots of carnival games. The venue will also have eating and shopping stalls for the special day.
