The Victory Column in Berlin, Germany, designed by Heinrich Strack after 1864 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian war, is being renovated. The bronze sculpture of Victoria, 8.3 mtrs high and nicknamed 'Goldelse’ by Berliners, is one of its parts undergoing major restoration work. Victoria was added to the structure later, and designed by Friedrich Drake.
