Now, an exhibition showcasing 37 images that he has clicked over eight years is on display in the city. "I've lived in Lakshadweep for 15 years and Andaman for five years. I have diving experiences in Indonesia and Maldives as well."

"Being a conservationist and environmentalist at heart, I was drawn to these underwater gems. I feel the need to share the beauty of the ocean," says Verma.

The photographer has won several international awards for his pictures and has had his work featured in various campaigns, feature films and shoots. Apart from his diving adventures, the exhibit will also feature some of his commercial work. All the photographs will be on sale.

Ask him which photo is closest to his heart and he says, "There's one of an old elephant swimming gracefully underwater. The way the huge creature allowed me to come so close to it was simply mind-blowing. We established a majestic connection."

Ode To The Sea will be on till November 10, at Gallery 7, Kala Ghoda.
