Armymen throw man off train

A man was allegedly thrown off a running train by a group of armymen near the Bhopal railway station on Friday evening. The victim received multiple injuries and has been admitted to a hospital. HT reports.

A man was allegedly thrown off a running train by a group of armymen near the Bhopal railway station on Friday evening. The victim received multiple injuries and has been admitted to a hospital.

The victim, Pratap Singh, 34, survived the mishap but fractured a leg. Singh said he boarded the general compartment of the Punjab Mail but a group of armymen inside the bogey asked him to get off.

"I begged them to let me stay in the compartment as the train had started moving, but they didn't listen and threw me out," said Singh from his hospital bed.

Singh, a shop owner from Hoshangabad, came to Bhopal to visit relatives. Additional superintendent of police, railways, Awadhesh Kumar said an inquiry had been ordered.
