A team of Bhopal police will go to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi to record the statement of CISF constable Ritu Kumari, who had attempted to commit suicide by shooting herself at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, on August 5.
"A team of police led by in charge of Mahila Thana Renu Murab will go to Delhi on Thursday to record the fresh statement of Ritu Kumari. We have registered case on the basis of her complaint letter to Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission (MPSWC)," said superintendent of police (North) Arvind Saxena.
In her complaint to MPSWC Ritu Kumari has alleged that she was sexually harassed by deputy commandant, CISF Bhopal Airport Unit, Vijay Kumar Dhankar.
The police on Tuesday had registered a case against Dhankar.
Meanwhile, the police have sought information about Dhankar from the CISF administration. Notably, few days after the incident, Dhankar was sent on leave and later transferred to the Steel Plant Durgapur in West Bengal by the CISF administration.
Sources claim that the CISF administration was trying to give a clean chit to Dhankar in their 'Court of Inquiry' report and bury the case.
The deputy inspector general (DIG), CISF, Sanjay Prakash could not be contacted for commenting on the issue.
