Shilpi Rawat, who was crowned Miss Bhopal in 2009, committed suicide at her residence in Galla Bazar area.

"It is too early to comment on the reason behind it," Inspector Nagendra Pateria told IANS.

Her family members were not at home when she hanged herself at around 1 p.m. On their return sometime later, they found Shilpi's body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. They rushed her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Rawat was currently working as a teacher in Kanian School and was unmarried. She did not leave behind any suicide note, a police officer said.
