MP BJP MLA arrested by CBI

Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA from Harda constituency Kamal Patel has been arrested by the CBI here in connection with destroying evidence related to a murder case in which his son's name has figured, CBI officials said.

Patel, a former Revenue Minister, was questioned by the CBI, after which he was arrested last night, they said.

Patel will be produced later in the day in the CBI court at Indore where he will file his bail application.

On March 5, 2008, Patel's son Sudeep had gone with his friends to a farm house belonging to Congress leader, Rajendra Patel at Deotalao where an altercation took place, killing one Durgesh Jaat.

Sudeep was later arrested and was then released on bail.
