Additional superintendent of police Pankaj Pandey said some rag pickers were collecting scrap from the premises of Pahalwan Baba temple in Sagar during which one of them found a plastic bag filled with something heavy.

Pandey said when one of the young rag pickers opened the bag, he found to his horror bodies of three babies in it.

“There was a commotion in the area and police was informed about it. Ants and insects had started crawling over the bodies of the babies”, he said.

Pandey said after reaching the spot, police took possession of the bodies and sent them for post mortem to know the exact cause of their death and whether they were stillborn or died after birth or were killed.

“Whatever be the cause of their death, police is investigating the matter. The managements of the nursing homes in the area will also be questioned. The post mortem will make things clear,” he said.
