No one was reported injured, Khajuraho airport director Kishore Sharma told HT.

At the time of filing the report, the aircraft, Delhi-Varanasi-Khajuraho flight 9W2423, lay blocking the runaway, which forced Air India to cancel its flight to Delhi.

A team of technical experts is arriving from Delhi to ascertain the exact cause of the reported wheel failure and haul the aircraft off the runway, Sharma said quoting airways officials.

However, sources said some flights might get affected on Tuesday also if the aircraft was not taken off and the runway repaired.

Satish, a Delhi-based tourist, who was on board the plane, said it landed with a huge sound, got tilted on the left side and began to drag on the runway.

He said the plane halted after some distance and the passengers exited from the emergency doors but all were visibly terrified.

Jet Airways Khajuraho office disconnected the reporter’s call when he tried to know about the incident.
