MPPEB 2013 scam: Middleman arrested

Special Task Force officials, who are investigating the multi-layered Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam, arrested a middleman in connection with PMT-2013 scam.

Special Task Force (STF) officials, who are investigating multi-layered Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, on Monday arrested a middleman in connection with PMT-2013 scam.

The middleman was identified as Vivek Yadav, a resident of Itawa district of Uttar Pradesh. He is accused of arranging scorer for the Dr Jagadish Sagar-led racket.

According to STF officials, he was close to one of the key accused of PMT scam Dr Jagadish Sagar and arranged over 24 scorers for Dr Sagar. His role is also suspected in PMT-2012 scam, said STF officials.

He was produced in the court and remanded to STF custody for 10 days. "He was one of the key members of Sagar's gang. He is being interrogated to ascertain if he had provided more scorers to Dr Sagar. As of now, we have evidence that he had provided 24 scorers in 2013. He is believed to be involved in PMT-2012 scam," said an STF officer.
