Veteran actor Om Puri’s forthcoming Hollywood release, The Hundred Foot Journey is special on many counts. Firstly, the films stars Oscar-winning British actor Helen Mirren as the female lead alongside Puri, who plays the male protagonist. But more importantly, this project has seen Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios and Anil Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment coming together once again.
“Anil (Ambani) and I met in Cannes in 2008 when the global economic meltdown had hit everyone. My company DreamWorks was in bad shape and we will always be grateful to Anil for helping us get back on our feet,” Spielberg said in an interview. The film releases on August 8, 2014.
