Even though 28-year-old Imran Khan is yet to do an item number, mamu Aamir Khan at 46 is the latest to become an item boy in Delhi Belly. Parmita Uniyal catches up with the actor who's extremely nervous before his film's release.bollywood Updated: Jun 23, 2011 22:09 IST
"The promotional video was only for 15 minutes. There was not much scope to be nervous," he laughs.
The actor, who looked composed while he visited HT House ahead of Delhi Belly's release on July 1, admitted that he is very nervous right now about the audience's response to the film.
"I'm always nervous. It's a natural part of a release. Since last week I'm very tense."
Imran, who made a mark with his debut Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na, is satisfied with his cinematic journey so far and relieved with the fact that he's been able to experiment with his roles.
"I think, as an actor I've always tried to stretch myself. I think part of the reason why I became an actor was that I could experiment a lot. I know that I put a lot of hard work into my performances. My intention is that I outdo myself every time."
Ask him about Aamir Khan's item number in Delhi Belly and the actor couldn't stop talking about how great the item number is.
"As an item boy, he has done a very good job. It's a very funny video. He did an incredible job dancing. For my money, he has done an unbelievable job."
About the prospects of him turning an item boy, he has not yet made up his mind.
"I don't know. As and when an interesting film and song comes along," Imran tells Hindustan Times.
If we believe Imran, Aamir Khan's only role in Delhi Belly is that of a producer and an item boy.
"Aamir has never been involved in any project that I do. He is the producer of Delhi Belly, beyond that he's never interfered with script, direction or anything."
Imran Khan, meanwhile, is waiting for Delhi Belly to release, post which, he'll go for a holiday with wife Avantika.
"I'm planning to go on a holiday once Delhi Belly releases. I haven't decided on dates though."
