Ali Fazal wants to shoot in Pakistan

Actor Ali Fazal says he would love to shoot in Pakistan and meet his fans there.

Actor Ali Fazal says his fan following in Pakistan has made him eager to shoot for a project in the country. “I am so delighted to know that people love my work there. Maybe, one day I will go to Pakistan and meet these fans who like me and my work. At the end of the day we are all the same and meeting my fans there is something that I have on my mind. The closest I went was when I visited Wagah border and we shot some scenes there. It’s electric to witness the same enthusiasm and vigour coming from the other side, just a few feet away,” says Fazal, who has been part of films such as 3 Idiots (2009), Fukrey (2013), Bobby Jasoos (2014) and Khamoshiyan (2015) .

When the actor started getting fan mails from there, he was surprised that he had developed a fan base there as well. “I didn’t know I had a fan base on the other side of the border. I thought that since actor Ali Zafar is from Pakistan, the fans might have mistaken me for him. Eventually, I realised that they have liked my work and that feeling sunk in,” says the actor, who will soon be seen alongside Diana Penty in the next film.
