Alia Bhatt's Genius of the Year turned out to be a rage on internet. The viral video was made by a team of stand-up comedians called AIB (All India Bak****). The video impressed everyone how Alia Bhatt could take a joke made on her IQ. It's a hilarious take on the internet memes that went viral after Alia failed to answer a basic general knowledge question during Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan.

Rohan Joshi, a prominent member of AIB, explains how the idea struck them, "After Alia went on Koffee with Karan and made that mistake, everyone started making fun of her, but she was very sporting about it. And once when we met her she herself said we should make fun of it. A few months later while coming up with ideas for our next sketch, one of us saw an Alia joke on Twitter and suddenly the idea just occurred to us, that Alia should make her brain stronger by going to a Mental Gym."

The experiment has turned out to be a masterstroke for AIB as the video has received more than 5 million hits so far. Even the making of Genius of the Year has registered more than 1 lakh hits. But, wasn't it difficult to convince Alia to feature in such a video? "Quite easily. We had the idea, called her up and said 'here's what we think would be fun' and she started laughing the second we told her. So there wasn't much convincing required," says Rohan.

AIB's videos are constantly getting overwhelming response. Does that pressurise you for producing quick content without hampering the quality? "I have no idea! There's pressure to constantly produce fun content, but it's also something we love doing, and it's fun coming up with this stuff," says Rohan Joshi.







For Bollywood fans, it's a welcome change, but will the trend be carried forward by other actors? Let's wait and watch.
