Anupam Kher plays Suresh Kalmadi in Atul Agnihotri's O Teri?

O Teri, being presented by Salman Khan, seems to have a lot in common with the Commonwealth Games scam. Reports suggest that Anupam Kher's role in the film is 'inspired' by then minister Suresh Kalmadi.

Anupam Kher's role in O Teri is inspired by Suresh Kalmadi's life, sources claim.

Produced by Atul Agnihotri, O Teri is a satire which is ostensibly based on Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam.

The Pulkit Samrat, Bilal Amrohi-starrer, based on real life events, is the story of two journalists doing ordinary stories, facing the pressures of life when a quirky turn of events changes their lives.

Suresh Kalmadi was the chairperson of the organising committee of Commonwealth Games in 2010. He was charged with cheating and causing a loss of more than Rs 90 crore to the exchequer.

The Congress leader was later arrested.

Earlier reports suggested that there are many similarities that can be drawn between the CWG scam and the events in the film.

In one of the promos of the film, there is a scene where they show a foot over-bridge collapse. Incidentally, during CWG too, a bridge had collapsed near the main venue.

Presented by Salman Khan, O Teri is scheduled to release on March 28.
