Anushka Sharma joins Akshay Kumar, Ranveer in ignoring Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday wishes

Anushka Sharma isn’t the only Bollywood star who missed Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday wishes, and she certainly isn’t the only one who was called out in front of millions. Here’s a list of stars who have scorned Sr Bachchan.

Everyone is too busy to reply to Amitabh Bachchan, and he’s going to let them and the entire world know. Anushka Sharma celebrated her 30th birthday on May 1, surrounded by birthday cakes, her husband Virat Kohli, and wishes from her fans, colleagues and family. Amid the hundreds of birthday wishes the actor-producer-animal lover received, one was from Sr Bachchan. But when he failed to get an acknowledgment for his message, the actor took to Twitter to let her know.

“Anushka .. this is Amitabh Bachchan @Srbachchan .. wished you on May 1st via sms .. no response .. checked they said you changed number .. sent greetings again .. love and wishes .. you looked radiant at the IPL game last night,” he wrote on Wednesday. Anushka replied promptly. “Thank you so much Sir, for remembering my birthday and sending your kind wishes! (Responding to your sms as I tweet this),” she wrote.

This isn’t the first time Amitabh has been ‘ignored’ by his Bollywood colleagues on their birthdays. In July, 2017, the actor tweeted to Sonam Kapoor, saying, “this is Amitabh Bachchan my dear .. i sent you an sms on your birthday and you never replied ..aaarrrgghh !!” A mortified Sonam replied, “Oh my god sir!! I didn’t get it!! I always reply!! Thank you so much! I got @juniorbachchan message. I’m so so sorry ,” she wrote. “Thank you so so much!! Tons and tons of love,” the actor, who is going to get hitched on May 8, wrote.

Also in July, Amitabh called out Ranveer Singh for not replying to his birthday message. “Hey .. but what about my intention .. sent you sms greetings for your birthday .. did not get a reply .. did you see it .. !??” he wrote, and Ranveer shot back, “Except that i TOTALLY replied! I just cross checked it too! You were in fact one of the first to even wish!”

In 2012, on the 640th day of his Twitter career, Amitabh sent a Tweet in Preity Zinta’s direction. “Preity Zinta ...!! wherever you are, since you have refused to reply to my sms .. Ha ha ..A very happy birthday .. love and happiness.”

Two years before that, while replying to Akshay Kumar’s tweet in which the star had thanked everyone for their wishes, Amitabh had written, “Yo Akshay !! hey ! I sent you sms greetings for birthday . Did you get it ? Or is your phone jammed ? Love and success always.”
