Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar team up for Ashwiny Iyer’s next
Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is writing a novel, which she will adapt for a film next year. She will also direct Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming movie.
After making a successful directorial debut with recent Swara Bhaskar-starrer Nil Battey Sannata, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari will now direct Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming movie. Meanwhile, Ashwiny is also writing a book, titled Homework, which she later plans to adapt for a film. “I am still working on the book. I will take some time to finish writing it,” says Ashwiny.

Talking about how she ended up writing this book, the writer-director says, “I share a lot of my stories on a Facebook page, which is managed by me. Once, when I shared the basic outline of my story on the same platform, I got a lot of comments, and suggestions to take it forward, and turn it into a book.” She says she might end up finishing the screenplay as well as the book around the same time. “I plan to publish the book sometime next year,” adds Ashwiny.

The novel is about a father-daughter’s relationship. “As of now, I am busy with my next film. I plan to start working on the movie based on my book next year. I have also discussed the movie with [Malayalam] actor Amala Paul. I will also make it in Malayalam with her,” she says, adding that she hasn’t thought of the cast for the Hindi film yet.
