Before her Cannes 2018 appearance, Aishwarya Rai to debut on Instagram

Ahead of her 17th appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year, Aiswarya Rai Bachchan will finally make her Instagram debut.

Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is all set to make her 17th appearance at the 71st Cannes Film Festival on May 11, will debut on Instagram ahead of the red carpet appearance at Cannes.

Throughout her 21-year career, Aishwarya has been a private person and she does not have any official social media accounts. Husband Abhishek and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, however, are already acing the social media game with their interesting posts and frequent tweets.

A source close to the actress claimed it is due to constant requests from her fans all around the globe that she decided to join the social media and keep them updated on her life and projects. “Her closest buddies from the industry, which include Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and others, have been asking her to join social media. Even her team persuaded her a lot. Before her 17th Cannes appearance, the L’Oreal team also discussed this with her. Finally, she decided to go ahead,” the source said.

The 71st annual Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to be held from May 8 to May 19.

On the work front, Aishwarya will be seen in Fanne Khan opposite Anil Kapoor along with Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role.
