But, for the past few weeks, the actor has put all his work on hold for his wife Mira Kapoor, who delivered a healthy baby girl Friday evening. Shahid is a doting husband, and doesn’t want to leave Mira alone at all.

A source says that the actor, who is otherwise a workaholic, has dedicated himself to taking care of his wife. “They are extremely excited about welcoming their firstborn. Shahid is ensuring that Mira stays healthy and is safe. He will resume work only in October,” says the source, adding, “Over the past few weeks, Shahid has also been putting up pictures of him and Mira on his social media accounts. The post that he put up on Instagram earlier this week, for instance, went viral.”

While Shahid couldn’t be reached for a comment, his spokesperson confirmed the news, and said, “As a caring husband and an expecting father, Shahid is always by Mira’s side.”
